Hunzinger Construction is a fourth-generation, family-owned company that has served the industry since 1907. Founded in Iowa by brothers John, Frank, Fred, and Charles, the company was called J.H. Hunzinger and Company. They began modestly by building one-room schoolhouses and homes using mule teams to do everything from hauling materials to digging basements. Twenty-one years later in 1928, Frank and Fred Hunzinger moved to Milwaukee and started their own firm – Hunzinger Construction Company. Together, they took on new projects, first building schools and churches and, later, office buildings and manufacturing plants. Their growth following The Great Depression years allowed the company to thrive and expand, completing projects from Minnesota to Texas.

Today, we are construction managers, general contractors and design/builders who have built and managed some of Wisconsin’s most notable and challenging projects. We embrace sustainability and green construction practices and are proud of our superior quality craftsmanship, an exceptional safety record, and a drive to remain on the forefront of the most modern technology available in the industry. We have received numerous awards for outstanding project management, safety, engineering, concrete work and core values. We have been recognized as Employer of Choice by Wisconsin Builder Magazine over multiple years and, most recently the Daily Reporter's Diversity in Business Award. This year, Hunzinger is once again ranked among the top Milwaukee Area Contractors and is again listed in Engineering News Record (ENR) as one of the top 400 Construction firms and one of the top Construction Management firms in the United States.
