About Lake Shore Systems, Inc.
Founded in 1858, Lake Shore has evolved from a great lakes regional supplier of mining and shipboard cargo equipment to a major engineering and manufacturing company; a world leader in both defense and mining products. In 1988, Oldenburg Group Incorporated, a diversified industrial manufacturing company, acquired Lake Shore Inc. and undertook a program to modernize the company's facilities, equipment and capabilities. In the fall of 2016, Mr. Oldenburg sold the Heavy Equipment Group, including the Defense (Lake Shore) and Mining (Cannon) business units to private equity firm J.F. Lehman & Company. The existing management team and employees remain in place. All the factories and facilities will continue operations as normal, including: The Technology Center in Kingsford, MI; factories in Rhinelander, WI; Iron River, Ontonagon, MI; Claremont, NH and Mexico.
