Company Overview
In 1967, Robert (Bob) Angell opened Potomac Garden Center on River Road in Potomac, Maryland.  From 1967 until 1984 Potomac Garden Center grew to become a full-service garden center, also providing landscape services.  Unfortunately we did not own the property, and with our lease expiring in 1984 it marked the end of the Potomac location.

In 1984 Bob and Janet Angell, started over, came out to North Potomac and found the location where we currently operate at 12024 Darnestown Road in North Potomac.  The area back then was country; communities like Kentlands didn’t exist yet.  Over the years as the community has grown, so has the garden center.

David Angell joined the business in 1992, bringing his business (David’s Lawn Service) and a couple employees.  David brought with him landscaping services that were not being performed through the garden center at the time.  Our first community landscape maintenance contract was The Oaks at Washingtonian Woods which we still service today.

In 2001, the company secured the Urbana location at 8710 Fingerboard Road in Urbana.  Since then we have been planning and creating a destination garden center on the property.  With the glass greenhouse open for business in the fall of 2007, we have begun to realize what was started many years ago.

Our main objective is to be the best Garden Center / Community Landscape Maintenance business in Montgomery and Frederick counties.
