Our approach
At Van Zelst, we develop landscape designs as a team, drawing on the expertise of landscape architects, engineers, horticulturists and other specialists. One landscape architect leads the team from concept through installation and beyond, ensuring accountability and client availability throughout all phases. This is key to a healthy landscape, since two or three years generally go by before plantings have fully matured.

Individualized design
Your project is your own—unlike any other. That’s why we don’t have a signature style or a template we follow. While we do incorporate best practices and focus on plants that will thrive in this area, we work diligently to bring your ideas to fruition.

Unsurpassed quality
Even our most discriminating clients aren’t as demanding as we are. That’s why we grow 90% of the perennials we use in our own greenhouses. Why we’ve painstakingly researched lighting, stone and appliance providers. And why we use our own in-house engineers, stone masons, installers and maintenance crews.
