Smithsonian Enterprises' mission is to provide revenue from its commercial activities to support the Smithsonian Institution's mission and promote the “increase and diffusion of knowledge.” Smithsonian Enterprises includes Smithsonian Magazines, made up of Smithsonian and Air & Space magazines; Catalogue and E-commerce; Museum/Retail Operations; Media; and Licensing. All revenue generated through Smithsonian Enterprises, above and beyond operating costs, are used to support the Institution’s mission of education and research.
