Dane County Parent Council, Inc., (DCPC), is a community based private non-profit umbrella agency for the delivery of a variety of child development and family support programming for children and their families. DCPC’s roots began in 1965, with the inception of the Head Start Program in Madison and Dane County. DCPC existed, for a number of years, as a single purpose delegate agency of the Community Action Coalition. In 1982, DCPC became a corporation and since then has been responding to the needs of the community by sponsoring successful programs that are designed to enhance the well-being and future success of participants. DCPC serves over 1000 children and their families in Dane and Green Counties through programs that include Head Start, 4 Year Old Kindergarten, Satellite Family Child Care Accreditation, Family Services, Early Head Start and Infant/Toddler Child Care programs and other programs that support the mission of DCPC and the professional development and training needs of staff. These programs are delivered through both center and home based models. Through its years of service DCPC has firmly established its credibility as an efficient, innovative and stable organization that is a leader in the community and state in providing programming for children and families. DCPC has become the largest provider of both preschool and infant/toddler programming in South Central Wisconsin.
