Shipping/Backup Driver (non-CDL)
Description

Nasco Education is currently seeking additional staff for our Biology products department.  This individual will be responsible for packaging preserved specimens for shipment and will also be the backup to our delivery driver.  CDL license is not required, but the individual will need to pass a FedMed exam for this position.  Duties include:

  • Packaging and boxing of dissecting specimens
  • Picking of product from warehouse for fulfilling orders.
  • Tracking inventory using a computerized device.
  • When driving - operating a 24 foot box truck (automatic transmission) or cargo van.
  • When driving - maintaining proper records of deliveries and receipts.
  • Assisting in other areas of the Nasco warehouse as needed.

This position is generally first shift, Monday - Friday.  When driving, there may be occasional early morning or later evening hours depending on pickup/drop off locations.  The primary driver currently has 1-2 overnight trips per month.

Requirements
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 10-25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Comfort level with using, or learning to use computerized devices for tracking items removed from inventory.
  • Solid math skills including comfort level with multiplication and division.
  • Ability to read and communicate in English.
  • Experience with fork trucks/order pickers is a plus.

Salary Description
$15 starting rate, higher with experience
