The Press Operator will prepare the press and all job components for print jobs. This position reports to the department manager. Shift Hours: 3:00pm am to 1:00 am, Monday through Thursday. Note: these hours are subject to change based on production needs. Schedule may permanently change to include Fridays. If permanent changes are made, employees will have advanced notice. - Communicate with Press Operator from previous shift, if any, regarding status of press operations.
- Prepares press and all job components for print job, such as anilox, ink, film , etc.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks on machine and troubleshoots problems as needed.
- Set impression, evaluate quality of print, execute recommended corrections.
- Upholds all ethical standards associated with safety, quality and food safety policies and procedures within the facility, including the TC Transcontinental Code of Conduct and values.
- Complies with all the standards that are followed in the TC Huntley plant, including, but not limited to-Health, Safety, Wellness (HSW), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), Continuous Improvement (CI) and any other processes established within the TC Huntley plant.
- Responsible for reporting all safety, quality, and food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- Report any equipment or material problems to team/team leader immediately for prompt correction of problem.
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
- Performs responsibilities to expected outcomes.
- Communicates openly, truthfully, and compassionately with respect for individual differences.
- Identify issues and problems within manufacturing and quality processes. Work with Supervisor/Manager to define and resolve problems, as well as recommend improvement processes.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
- This job operates in a manufacturing environment.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- This position may have minimal exposure to hazards such as dust, high noise levels, solvent fumes and medium heat on the production floor.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds with no assistance.
- Able to stand for shift in safety shoes.
- Able to grip with one or both hands.
- Flexibility in working hours.
