Position Overview
Part-time positions teaching one or more course sections of courses in any
of the following areas: advertising, communication studies, corporate communication,
digital media, journalism, public relations, media studies, dance, film, music, performing arts
and/or theatre arts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Department Chair:
-Prepare and follow syllabus and teaching plans.
-Instruct, manage and supervise individuals and groups in a professional manner.
-Prepare and administer quizzes and exams.
-Evaluate and grade student work.
-Maintain a minimum of three office hours per course per week.
-Be prepared to covert class to online if necessary.
-Develop and prepare syllabi, lectures, presentations and handouts for teaching courses.
-Stimulate and encourage class discussions.
-Maintain accurate records of student performance.
-Create, administer and grade quizzes.
-Be available/responsive to students.
-Remain current with trends and development in his/her are of expertise.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Undergraduate degree in communication or related field and experienceteaching at the college level.
