Position Overview | Part-time positions teaching one or more course sections of courses in any of the following areas: advertising, communication studies, corporate communication, digital media, journalism, public relations, media studies, dance, film, music, performing arts and/or theatre arts. |
Duties and Responsibilities | Under the direction of the Department Chair: -Prepare and follow syllabus and teaching plans. -Instruct, manage and supervise individuals and groups in a professional manner. -Prepare and administer quizzes and exams. -Evaluate and grade student work. -Maintain a minimum of three office hours per course per week. -Be prepared to covert class to online if necessary. -Develop and prepare syllabi, lectures, presentations and handouts for teaching courses. -Stimulate and encourage class discussions. -Maintain accurate records of student performance. -Create, administer and grade quizzes. -Be available/responsive to students. -Remain current with trends and development in his/her are of expertise. |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree. |
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Undergraduate degree in communication or related field and experienceteaching at the college level. |
