The Opus College of Engineering at Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI) invites applications for part-time faculty to join us as we expand our curriculum in support of the biomedical, healthcare technologies, and medical device design industries. The college is developing industry-focused short courses as well as expanding our current elective courses. This includes expansion of new programs including the Clinical Immersion graduate certificate. Applications must be submitted through http://careers.marquette.edu/applicants/???. Duties and Responsibilities | 1. Objective-driven Course Content: develops interactive learning activities that focus upon application (bring fundamental theory into practice) to solve relevant and complex engineering and manufacturing problems. Tasks include creating lesson outcomes and course syllabus, curating course/lesson content, creating lecture notes, and developing case studies or practical design problems. 2. Student Engagement: leads (or co-teaches) industry-focused short courses and/or engineering electives (upper-level and graduate). Tasks include participation in or leading the short course or elective course module/lesson. These courses can vary from 0.5 credit to 3.0 credit offerings based upon the topic. 3. Course Administration: design and complete all required activities inherent in the course. Tasks include designing assessment activities (if applicable), grading all required assignments, and offering student support (i.e., office hours). |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree. |
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Applicants must have previous academic and/or professional experience in biomedical healthcare technology or medical device design. A MS/ME in engineering, an MBA or at least 5 years of professional work in a related field is required. Any additional professional certifications are welcome and will be given proper review. |
