Summary of Responsibilities

Handle complex claims independently. This includes Construction Defect, No-Fault, General Liability Property Damage and Bodily Injury claims. Utilize current Claims technology. Research and formulate a basis on which coverage decisions will be made, conduct thorough investigations, evaluate damages and liability. Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneys. Advanced understanding of applicable policies and endorsements and special technical knowledge. Responsible for active file management and ensuring files are adequately reserved. Consistently exhibit a high level of customer service and adherence to department best practices.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Proficiency with computers and current technology
• Prior experience handling claims involving no-fault coverage and large, complex casualty claims
• Oral and written communication skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Negotiation and problem-solving skills

Preferred Education and Training

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or related field
• Associate in Claims designation
• CPCU coursework or other continuing education designation
• Licensed in all states West Bend writes business
