Job Description

The PCI Consultantis an exempt position reporting to a Senior Level Manager, Director, or Vice President, depending upon organizational structure. Extensive travel of more than fifty percent is required.

****This position services customers that require vaccinations to enter their premises****

Expectations:

PCI Consultants are well respected Subject Matter Experts and called upon in the industry for their vast knowledge of key components and ability to share that knowledge in a professional way. PCI Consultants also develop a true business partnership with all clients across various Life Science fields. Consultants work closely with clients to research, identify, and provide effective long-term client solutions. They consistently uphold PCI Values and demonstrate Honesty, Integrity, Pride, Accountability, Teamwork, and Commitment.

The expectations of a Consultant fallsunder three main categories:

  1. Business Partner with Clients

Consultants must initiate, develop, lead, and maintain a strong and steadfast business partner relationship with clients so that PCI can successfully live up to its mission and deliver value-added services. Consultants must ensure a sustainable relationship through mutual trust built on professionalism, expertise, and repeat successful projects. Consultants will identify, pursue, and lead new opportunities for business at existing and potential new Client sites. Consultants will also actively champion and be involved with at least one professional organization (i.e. ISPE, PDA, NCSL, or ASQ); to further develop their skills as well as maintain and further PCI's reputation and mission of being an industry leader.

2. Manage and Lead Projects

Consultants are responsible for the overall success of client projects including successfully initiating and handling scope changes, additional proposal changes, and/or handling any other perceived or real obstacles which may hinder the success of a project. In addition, the Consultant is expected to assist with mentoring new hires and developing associates by sharing expertise. Internal and external training in area of expertise is also required. As a representative of PCI, Consultants must conduct themselves at all times in accordance with the PCI values.

3. Manage Risk and Profitability

Consultants are responsible for managing the risk and profitability of their projects. Consultants must manage resources, schedules, and associate assignments to maximize labor utilization and optimize profits. Consultants are responsible for ensuring that all projects stay on task, are meeting/exceeding the client expectations, and are on time and within budget.

Responsibilities/Assignments:

Consultant

  • Integrate self intoclient environment in order to effectively lead project teams while building positive professional relationships with clients and associates.
  • Define project objectives, requirements, and assumptions necessary to structure a project or activity.
  • Plan, schedule, and control project activities to fulfill objectives and satisfy project requirements forclients.
  • Develop and drive integrated project plans, aligning project tactics with project strategy.
  • Establish, maintain, and lead high performance project teams, serving as the project advocate within theclient organization.
  • Lead, coordinate, facilitate, and motivate all associated project resources to gain alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Proactively assesses project safety concerns and ensures team members are in compliance with any and all client and/or PCI site safety requirements.
  • Lead risk management withinproject teams, ensuring risks have appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Takes client relations initiative and proactively seeks to expand PCI services. Provides project coordination in oversight of scheduling, resource allocation, proposal and quotation development, fixed cost and T&E project management for profitability.Leads projects and serves as "Account Manager" for select clients based on strong client ties and business needs.

Consultants will spend 80-100% of the time at the client facility. In order to satisfy this requirement, extensive travel outside the local area may be required.

Consultants provide implementation and management of on-site Instrument Management Service contracts, as well as initiating, researching, and providing project acquisition and development, initiation and turnover for new and existing PCI clients. Consultants will also manage PCI project teams, performing, supervising, and providing technical expertise with calibrations, instrument procurement, management of third party services, resource scheduling, account management and maintaining PCI client/project files in accordance with company procedures.

Skills Required:

Consultant

  • Interact with clients at a very high strategic level to build a foundation of trust, as well as have a thorough understanding of the specific details of the client processes.
  • Analyze business processes, diagnose inefficiencies, and conduct GAP analysis.
  • Develop process flow diagrams.
  • Conduct audits and write audit reports, and provide solutions scaled to a client's specific need.
  • Build a high confidence level with the technicians, clients, team leaders, and management.

Experience & Education Required:

Consultant: A four-year degree in Life Sciences, or other related technical field, or equivalent military training, and six or more years of instrumentation experience in the Life Sciences industry.

A proven track record of project and people management is required.

  • Experience and success in initiating, developing, leading, and expanding client relations.
  • Ability to 'close the deal' and bring in prospective leads to project fruition.
  • Proven history of high level project oversight and program management successes.
  • Exceptional technical knowledge and skill with calibration accuracy testing requirements in manufacturing and laboratory environments.
  • Extensive experience with Calibration Management and Maintenance Management software.
  • Effective working knowledge and use of MS Office Suite.
