The PCI Consultantis an exempt position reporting to a Senior Level Manager, Director, or Vice President, depending upon organizational structure. Extensive travel of more than fifty percent is required.

PCI Consultants also develop a true business partnership with all clients across various Life Science fields. Consultants work closely with clients to research, identify, and provide effective long-term client solutions. The expectations of a Consultant fallsunder three main categories:
Consultants must initiate, develop, lead, and maintain a strong and steadfast business partner relationship with clients so that PCI can successfully live up to its mission and deliver value-added services. Consultants must ensure a sustainable relationship through mutual trust built on professionalism, expertise, and repeat successful projects. Consultants will identify, pursue, and lead new opportunities for business at existing and potential new Client sites. Consultants will also actively champion and be involved with at least one professional organization (i.e. ISPE, PDA, NCSL, or ASQ); to further develop their skills as well as maintain and further PCI's reputation and mission of being an industry leader.
2. Manage and Lead Projects
Consultants are responsible for the overall success of client projects including successfully initiating and handling scope changes, additional proposal changes, and/or handling any other perceived or real obstacles which may hinder the success of a project. In addition, the Consultant is expected to assist with mentoring new hires and developing associates by sharing expertise. Internal and external training in area of expertise is also required. As a representative of PCI, Consultants must conduct themselves at all times in accordance with the PCI values.
3. Manage Risk and Profitability
Consultants are responsible for managing the risk and profitability of their projects. Consultants must manage resources, schedules, and associate assignments to maximize labor utilization and optimize profits. Consultants are responsible for ensuring that all projects stay on task, are meeting/exceeding the client expectations, and are on time and within budget.
Responsibilities/Assignments:

Consultants will spend 80-100% of the time at the client facility. In order to satisfy this requirement, extensive travel outside the local area may be required.
Consultants provide implementation and management of on-site Instrument Management Service contracts, as well as initiating, researching, and providing project acquisition and development, initiation and turnover for new and existing PCI clients. Consultants will also manage PCI project teams, performing, supervising, and providing technical expertise with calibrations, instrument procurement, management of third party services, resource scheduling, account management and maintaining PCI client/project files in accordance with company procedures.

Experience & Education Required:
Consultant: A four-year degree in Life Sciences, or other related technical field, or equivalent military training, and six or more years of instrumentation experience in the Life Sciences industry.
A proven track record of project and people management is required.
