What You Will Be Doing:

  • Support the Business Integrity & Privacy teams to shape and influence a culture of compliance throughout Elastic through campaigns, communication, and training.
  • Partner with the Director of Privacy and Business Integrity Counsel to design and implement best-in-class global Privacy and Business Integrity programs and guide the execution, implementation, and scaling of the program across the business.
  • Partner with Elastic's Product, Security and Sales teams to further embed privacy by design into our products and services.
  • Partner with Elastic's privacy attorneys team to strengthen our measurable and scalable processes for demonstrating privacy compliance, including:
    • Risk assessments (Privacy, Data Transfer, and Data Protection)
    • Operations (Data Subject Rights fulfillment, Triaging of privacy requests)
  • Partner with our Business Integrity Counsel to promote and maintain Elastic's Code Business Conduct & Ethics, strengthen the compliance branding and communications strategy, and partner with stakeholders to promote an ethical culture through consistent messaging in various cross-functional initiatives, including Integrity Week.
  • Develop and maintain the Business Integrity and Privacy program training plans; develop training materials on company policies and compliance topics including anti-corruption, anti-fraud, conflicts of interest, data privacy, data protection, and third-party risks.
  • Assist with the implementation and day-to-day administration of Business Integrity processes, including but not limited to code of conduct annual certification, conflict of interest disclosure process, gifts & entertainment review, third party due diligence, and hotline case management.
  • Generate and maintain records and metrics to support the VP of Business Integrity and Privacy and the Chief Legal Officer for executive and board reporting.
  • Support other Business Integrity and Privacy Program activities, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Must-Haves):

  • At least 5 years of program management with some combination of experience in corporate ethics and compliance and privacy.
  • Experience with the operational aspects of a privacy and/or compliance program, such as developing and/or implementing and running systems and processes for:
    • Risk Assessments (e.g. DPIA, PIA, TIA)
    • Third party risk management
    • Due diligence
    • Training
    • Reporting
    • Case management (e.g. Data Subject Rights)
  • Knowledge of ethics and compliance concepts, including elements of an effective compliance program, standards of conduct and ethics, DOJ guidance and enforcement standards, and "Speak Up" culture.
  • Experience with compiling, analyzing, and tracking metrics and preparing data-driven quarterly reporting.
  • Be proactive, able to exercise independent judgment, and work effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written), with both legal and non-legal professionals and comfort working in a role requiring utmost discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate a sense of ownership and must be comfortable in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment.
  • Exhibit excellent judgment, character, and professional integrity.
Bonus Qualifications (Nice to Haves):

  • Compliance Certifications such as CCEP or LPEC, or Privacy certifications such as CIPP/E/US/M and equivalents are valued but not required.


Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component.

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program. Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.

The typical starting salary range for this role is:
$106,800-$168,935 USD
The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is:
$128,100-$202,630 USD
