The opportunity
This role is accountable for developing and implementing sales and business development strategies that promote continued growth and profitability for a defined territory for middle market commercial lines.
Primary Responsibilities
* Develop and implement business strategies by analyzing sales and profitability trends to identify opportunities for increased business and put actions in place to resolve profitability and service issues
*Assist with coordination of the agency/company business planning (ACBP) process for assigned territory to promote continued growth and profitability objectives
*Build and maintain internal and external relationships by communicating results, working collaboratively to identify and mitigate risks and providing information and tools that support the achievement of new business and retention sales within area of responsibility
*Organize, document and conduct agency reviews using sound and consistent criteria
*Assist with developing agency business goals that are in alignment with the region's profitability and growth expectations and motivating agents to achieve sales objectives
*Assess account opportunities and pre-qualify risks based on defined account criteria, appetite and resource alignment for all lines of business
*Assist in the completion of any special projects or initiatives as assigned
*Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and influencing others to reward performance and value "can do" people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun
Required Education
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Required Experience
* 4 years relevant experience

*Events affecting the industry, including understanding of competition and the marketplace
*Principles and processes for providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
*Demonstrated practice of keeping current with new and emerging tools and technologies relevant to the line of work
