Job Summary:
Following established policies and procedures, Pharmacy Intern 2 performs technical, distributive, and administrative duties. This individual may receive, sort, compound, process and prepare medication orders under the supervision of a pharmacist. They may prepare sterile products and will assist in the training of Pharmacy Intern 1. As the intern progresses, and demonstrates an increase in ability, the preceptor will grant increased responsibility. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital pharmacy internship program is preferred.

Completion of first year of a doctor of pharmacy program at a degree granting institution. An equivalent first year completion in an accelerated doctor of pharmacy program at a degree granting institution will be accepted

Must complete a competency checklist within three months of completing orientation and training sessions.

Ability to communicate effectively with other health care professionals and patients. Ability to prioritize responsibilities in order to optimize patient care and minimize adverse outcomes.
