Proactive Technical Recruitment is hiring a Field Service Technician(s) for a prestigious manufacturer and retailer of automation technology for the parcel handling industry.

Direct Hire Benefits: Competitive Pay Full Benefits Package (health, dental, vision, life, PTO, 401k, stocks)

Salary: $23 - $35/hour

Industry: Material Handling Automation

The Service Technician will provide technical support and service to customers during the complete life of a machine. As a machine expert, the Service Technician will provide advice and technical support to the customer while promoting and maintaining an image consistent with the clients' values towards professionalism. The Service Technician will also provide application assistance, start-up integration and emergency field service in an environment where broad use of independent judgment, discretion and use of technical skills is required.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree or Technical Degree in Electro-Mechanical Preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in highly skilled technical support of an electro-mechanical product/system OR a High School diploma or general education degree (GED) with equivalent direct job experience.)
  • Two years' experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time, including weekends and some international travel

Responsibilities

  • Able to work independently, but also to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships across multiple functions and geographically diverse sites
  • Install, integrate, repair, and troubleshoot machinery of a complex and involved design requiring a high level of technical skill/knowledge.
  • Ensure all established inspection, testing, quality, and operating specifications are met.
  • Identify and correct hardware or software discrepancies.
  • Maintain a positive customer relationship.
  • Identify new product opportunities and make recommendations for product improvements. After review of customer parts' inventory, advise customer of necessary parts that should be included in customer stock.
  • Support team by receiving and responding to customers, contractors, Sales, and other technical inquiries.
  • Function as a technical resource for the Sales Department's Account Managers and Engineering Design Department (Electrical & Mechanical) to address and resolve inquiries and problems related to installation/integration or repair. Provide technical support for other departments (Operations, Accounting, Sales, etc.).
  • Prepare accurate and timely trip reports that summarize work performed, status and condition of installed equipment and identify additional equipment/parts opportunities.
  • Work with customers and Customer Service team to resolve warranty, installation, and commissioning issues.
  • Demonstrate supported products to customer, including training on operation, maintenance, and routine troubleshooting.
