Modern Healthcare, the leading source for healthcare business news, is seeking an experienced reporter to cover post-acute care organizations and the growing movement in medicine to care for patients outside the hospital.
Hospitals are rethinking how they control costs and improve patient outcomes and they see acute care at home and post-acute care as key drivers of future growth. We seek an aggressive reporter who will dig deep to develop the robust sources necessary to cover the companies and health systems delivering care outside the hospital, including nursing homes, home health organizations and assisted-living facilities.
Our audience is healthcare industry executives, policymakers and decision-makers. Our goal is to shape policy and hold organizations accountable.
The reporter must be a self-starter who will be responsible for daily news coverage, writing breaking news and enterprise stories for our website as well as longer-form articles for our magazine. There also are opportunities for video interviews and podcasts.
We are a collaborative newsroom and look for a reporter eager to work with colleagues, editors, data and graphics team members to provide compelling content and expand our audience.
Basic Qualifications
Modern Healthcare is based in Chicago. We will consider other locations for the right candidate.
This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Pay Transparency Disclosure:
The estimated salary range for this position is $50,000 to $75,000.
The final salary offering will take into accounta wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments and location. The salary range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap. In addition to base salary, Crain also offers competitive benefits including retirement plan savings contributions and bonus opportunities based on individual and company performance.
