Job Description
Position: Technician - Test Lab
Reports to: Supervisor or Manager of Engineering

General Overview: The Technician will plan, coordinate, implement and maintain testing processes, methods, systems, controls and equipment. This candidate must be strong in time management, creative thinking, achieve departmental KPIs, and be adaptable when new projects and priorities are provided.

Responsibilities and Duties Include and Not Limited to:
  • Select lab equipment, sensors, gauges, and set-up to effectively run tests and experiments.
  • Communicate with requesting engineers to ensure accuracy and quality of tests being performed.
  • Maintain plans to manage multiple tests at a time as well as its impact on surrounding tests and equipment.
  • Prepare results and recommendations in technical report format based on observations and data.
  • Identify and support fixture needs, coordinate their procurement, assembly, and implementation.
  • Follow, teach, and continuously improve documented test procedures and best practices.
  • Lead or support processes and activities related to continuous improvement, and daily Engineering lab operations:
    • Perishables, tools, equipment
    • Gauge and sensor calibration
    • Maintenance of test and support vehicles
Required Skills: A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience. Associates degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent, required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
