Job Description

The 2 nd shift Supervisor is to use their knowledge of, materials, tooling, equipment, programming, nesting, and quality control standards to develop, evaluate and improve the processes so we meet or exceed the customer's requirements. The Supervisor is determine, in a timely manner, from drawings, samples and customer interface the most efficient method and in such a manner as to eliminate any questions, doubts or assumptions by their employees. This will require a strong floor presence (80% +/-), with minimal office duties.

Position Responsibilities

* Understand and adhere to Argon's Safety Policy & Requirements-every employee at Argon Industries has the right and the obligation to stop production and contact a supervisor immediately if they deem it to be unsafe.....

* Maintain an orderly, clean and safe environment

* Understand and enforce all of Argon's Policies & Procedures including Safety, Quality, the Employee Handbook, etc.

* Maximize the departments and its employees Job Efficiencies and Productivity (Direct & Indirect Labor)

* Maintain the production schedule, utilizing all resources available; personnel, equipment, materials, supplies, etc

o Expediting work from other departments

o Coordinating required resources

o Scheduling personnel and overtime

* Communicate to ensure clear and accurate information exists for all Argon Personnel, including updated- drawings, job travelers, programs, e-mails, schedules, potential problems, safety issues, etc

* Evaluate, review, encourage, train and motivate personnel to understand argon's goals, quality and safety policies

o Employee growth and development

o Department morale

o Assess and address problems

* Understand and coordinate department activities; properly maintain, improve and streamline

o Production

o Quality

o Shipping/Receiving

o Maintenance

o Inventory

* Properly utilize inspection equipment to perform and/or train others in First Piece, In-Process and Final Inspections

* Observe, evaluate and suggest new ideas, policies and procedures, anticipating potential problems suggesting and/or implementing solutions in a timely manner

* Identify appropriate materials for the job, including the ability to check the type, size, quantity, quality and maintain traceability

Bonus:

* Setup, program and operate Laser & Turrets, Robotic welders, and brake presses

* Programing and Nesting Software

* CAD, SolidWorks, JobBOSS

Qualifications:

* Must have high character, enthusiasm and desire to meet or exceed the customers requirements

* Must be organized, detail oriented and dependable

* Must have high school diploma or equivalent

* Must have extensive supervising experience

* Must be able to read, interpret and understand blueprints, drawings, etc.

* Must be computer literate

You should be proficient in:

  • Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Scheduling Experience
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment

Salary info:

$30 - $35 / hr
