INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this procedure is to define the authorities, responsibilities, principal duties, reporting relationships, and measures of performance for the role of Solar PV Designer.

POSITION DATA

• Position Title - Solar PV Designer
• Hourly wages $37,000 - $65,000 commensurate on experience/abilities with opportunities for advancement
• Fair Labor Standards Act Status - Exempt (Salaried Position)

FUNCTIONAL ROLE

The role of the Solar PV Designer is to ensure that the design team provides consistent, high-quality, and timely engineering for our customers. Solar PV Designer will also help support Operations Team in overseeing, guiding, and managing the work of contractors, vendors, suppliers and employees.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong customer service, Positive attitude, Highly motivated
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Proven ability to work in a team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Advance degree supporting the company's solar design goals is preferred
• NABCEP-Associate certification preferred
• Working knowledge of NEC code; Permitting experience preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and all other internal software relating to design deliverables
• Ability to procure, receive and accurately inventory all materials necessary for Solar jobs

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Solar PV Designer will take primary direction from the Lead Solar PV Designer, President & Operations Business Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES & PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Perform, organize and streamline engineering & design tasks to reduce potential for error
• Provide technical assistance to clients and staff to resolve problems & provide information
• Provide guidance and support for accurate technical site surveys

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

The job performance of the Solar PV Designer will be determined by the Sales, Finance and Operations team leads as well as a company-wide peer review.
