Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
Working on new products and concepts based on the instruments manufactured at SEAL US
Redesign existing products when required, to enhance functionality.
Investigate and determine cause of faults and advise the Production Manager on corrective actions
Be part of the SEAL Global R&D team
Lead R&D & production meetings when required
Develop testing procedures and devices to test high failure parts.
Ensure instrument parts are manufactured to specification.
Review and revise part and assembly drawings with purchasing/operation manager
Prepare and present management and technical reports.
Complete onsite customer visits to inspect, diagnose and repair instruments.
Perform telephone and e-mail troubleshooting with customers.
Update and maintain CRM and NAV records.
Perform diagnostic testing and repairs on loaner instruments.
Perform other production/service duties if required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, or relevant field.
3+ years’ experience as an R&D /Mechanical Engineer
Strong technical skills with a thorough understanding of basic electricity and analog/digital theory is required.
Must have the ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, electronic/mechanical drawings, and technical operation manuals.
Ability to use Solidworks (or similar) to modify and create part drawings.
Foreign language skills are a plus.
Management Skills
Demonstrate experience in a fast-paced environment
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
Must have strong leadership skills
Must have strong team-working skills
Employee must be able to:
Demonstrate a desire and ability to travel, including international travel, Approx. 25% travel.
Passport (or ability to obtain one) is required
Valid Driver’s License
