Job Description

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Perform client consultation: plan, design, implement, and support the voice infrastructure
  • Develop and implement the technical architecture and physical design of the network: analyze existing voice and data networks and recommend solutions
  • Set up, configure, and test Cisco Call Manager, Unity, Call Manager Express, Unity Express, Cisco LAN switches (core, distribution and access), Cisco firewalls, routers and voice gateways, etc.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems
  • Assist Account Managers during the sales process by educating the customer about new technologies and IP Telephony methodology
  • Assist in the management of projects using CDW's project management methodology
  • Ensure a stable performance environment for enterprise computer applications
  • Participate in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade converged network solutions
  • Collaborates with the technical architect on training plans and approaches to best equip staff for successful implementations
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems
  • Assist in the management of projects using CDW's project management methodology
  • Regularly interface with customer's technical and business executive level and project leadership
  • Serves as the technical lead on Proof of Concept engagements and large-scale implementations
  • Identify and communicate potential opportunities for cross-selling to the sales team
  • Manage time and expense to meet or exceed expectations defined in the Statement of Work
  • Provide high quality content deliverables using the appropriate document templates
  • Ensure solution is implemented as designed to the customer's satisfaction and approval
  • Work with Professional Services Managers, ATAE's, Project Managers and customers to manage expectations and timelines to ensure expectations and commitments are being met
  • Set strategy and lead successful deployments in at least two different technologies
  • Ability to navigate difficult customer environments independently, effectively, and consistently
  • Escalates and communicates alternatives with associated risks with executives and stakeholders
  • Educates the customer on solution as appropriate throughout the life of the project or service life
  • Develops standards, best practices and training for team members along with technical architect and technical lead in their area of expertise

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in business, computer science, a related technical degree or equivalent
  • Seven years' experience delivering complex technical solutions including planning, development, implementation and support

Other Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years consulting experience
  • Minimum of three years related experience in infrastructure/network environments, with some experience in network engineering (hardware and software), network security practices and designing, planning and implementing LANs and WANs using the latest technology
  • Experience in Cisco PBX and/or Call Center systems engineering experience
  • Minimum of one year experience in programming or analytical work
  • Experience with router configuration, knowledge of voice mail, unified messaging, ACD and IVR systems
  • Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients' needs
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment.
  • Attention to detail on inventory and logistics is important

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCVP, CCDP, or CCIE certification preferred
