Job Description

Our Turf Division is hiring a Senior Product Manager to take the lead with our commercial - Ferris brand - line. This includes products such as: walk behind mowers, ZTRs, and stand on mowing equipment. This senior position has a strategic focus and works cross functionally with the present and future of the product line. There is a lot to get excited about in the role, including the transition from gas to electric power and new products in the pipeline. This position is critical to helping lead the business unit's strategy and leads through influence.

Position Description

Develops and executes the product portfolio strategy for multiple or more complex product categories in existing and new regions. Defines vision and leads development and execution of a rolling three year product plan and portfolio strategy including new product introductions, product lifecycle management, cost/warranty reductions and profitability. Defines product and technology roadmaps by evaluating and analyzing key customer needs, and market trends and competitive intelligence. Manages technical communication and coordination between all business functions.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Creates and communicates product line strategy, as well as the justification and prioritization of new product development initiatives; synthesizes multiple product plans for multiple product lines into one comprehensive plan

  2. Drives the business case for product development programs within the New Product Development (NPD) Process and coaches others to successfully navigate the process recommending and implementing new efficiencies in the process

  3. Defines product and technology roadmaps by evaluating and analyzing key customer/end-user needs and product/market trends; presents relevant research and findings to Senior Leaders.

  4. Partners to build the long range planning process and the development of the rolling 3 year product plans and roadmaps for innovation planning 5+ years out for the platform.

  5. Developscapital budgets and drives resource planning and allocation decisions based on product line priorities

  6. Partners with marketing to define the Voice of Customer (VoC) and go-to-market strategy for new products/lines or changes

  7. Develops and delivers product and business strategy presentations;provides product knowledge for sales calls, sales literature/documentation and trade shows

  8. Maintains and reports out on product line metrics in alignment with the Product Management Review process

  9. Leads and participates in cost/warranty reduction and profit improvement efforts

  10. Partners with Operations and Supply Chain to improve product cost and quality

  11. Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget

  12. Performs other duties as assigned

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and experience
Experience Requirements
  • At least sevenyears of experience in product management, new product development, manufacturing, marketing or related field
  • At least Three years experience with global markets preferred
  • Experience working for OEM strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed, likely about 10 times/year
