Plans and performs a variety of moderately complex engineering assignments to promote the safe and compliant use of products; ensures compliance with government standards and adoption of industry standards. Ensures products have been reviewed, tested and assessed against compliance with Federal, State and International standards, product compliance, emission regulations, and/or product safety best practices,. Evaluates progress and results of projects. Recommends changes in design, procedures or objectives as necessary.
- Performs regulatory reviews during design and prior to production to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards, and monitors emission performance of existing products compared to regulatory standards
- Participates in the development of strategies and risk assessments to meet compliance standards and regulations
- Reviews and integrates messages and content in label design, communication reviews, technical publications, marketing displays and operating manuals
- Provides guidance based upon research of global compliance standards and regulations and reports findings
- Participates in the development of standards and recommends changes as necessary
- Performs product incident investigations and/or emission audit reviews
- Certifies engines and equipment to meet relevant standards, and completes routine compliance reports to government agencies
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Fundamental knowledge of regulations and industry standards
- Familiarity with the design, control and incorporation of compliance strategies
- Fundamental knowledge of outdoor power equipment
- Strong planning, organizational, problem solving and decision making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
- Minimum of three years of experience in a related field preferred
