Job Responsibilities

  1. Develops and manages control system software for integrated power systems at the discrete level while developing and adapting requirements

  2. Uses MATLAB/Simulink to create embedded control software

  3. Deploys control algorithms to embedded controllers (rapid prototyping and production ECU) from general project inputs without defined functional requirements

  4. Creates complex software requirements, specifications and validation plans

  5. Partners with other departments to help drive business decisions

  6. Develops engineering test standards

  7. Acts as a liaison between other departments as necessary

  8. Develops complex system architectures across multiple product lines that enable cohesive integration, component maintainability, and reuse

  9. Maintains the software portfolio and software lifecycle

  10. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skills Requirements

  • Professional experience in object-oriented design and analysis using C++ and MATLAB

  • Knowledge of control development and calibration tools including dSpace, Vector CANalyzer, ETAS INCA, and ATI Vision

  • Comprehensive knowledge of appropriate standards and regulations including functional safety.

  • Professional experience with software management tools including Subversion and Git

  • Proven ability to work well with others as part of a diverse global team

  • Strong communication skills to explain designs and logic used

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related field
Experience Requirements

  1. Five years of professional engineering experience
  2. Three years of experience developing control algorithms for mechanical or electrical systems
  3. Three years of experience with MATLAB/Simulink tools for data analysis, model development or software development
