Job Description

The General Accountant is responsible for monthly billings as well as month-end close and financial reporting.

Works closely with Project Managers, ensuring accurate and timely billing. Must be able to manage and improve various systems and internal processes; and can accurately document meaningful and understandable explanations for financial fluctuations to assist senior management in making business decisions.


 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                                        
  • Coordinate, prepare and manage monthly client billings; manage vendors’ invoices against cost estimates, reconcile Balance Sheet accounts, including Bank Reconciliation, and credit card processing. Collect, analyze, and summarize account data and trends
  • Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial statements and KPI reports.
  • Mentor and assist staff with implementing automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure integrity, maintenance, and accuracy of the Accounting systems and related processes and maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
   Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 3+ years of Accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data manipulation a must; experience with document management systems a plus
  • Outstanding communicator, and established skills in problem solving, accuracy, time management, organization, and working in a high-volume environment
  • Ambitious, analytical, self-motivator that is looking to grow with the company
