Location:This role can be based in Norcross, GA, Morrisville, PA or Richmond, VA. It's a hybrid role.

Primary Purpose:
The Regional Transportation Analyst is a critical supply chain role that is essential in collecting and interpreting complex and copious amounts of transportation and logistics data in order to evaluate the efficiency of transits and provide transportation network optimization recommendations.

Develops complex routing and dispatch efficiency models using programs such as LLamasoft, Alteryx, and Tableau to extract data, identify efficiency opportunities, and present findings and suggestions in a succinct and executable fashion that can be used by the transportation management team to drive effective and efficient transportation operations within the region.

Additionally, this role will lead the effort in creating visual analytics dashboards to report key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop actionable recommendations to drive tangible transportation performance and network execution efficiencies within each of Univar Solutions' regions.

Deliverables:

  • Utilizes data-gathering and complex modeling strategies as well as quantitative analytical processes for business visibility and reporting as well as modal and network optimization purposes.Assists by preparing the actual business reports, which may include data on shipments, carriers, operational and financial performance, and modal management, by gathering data from multiple sources. (15% of time spent).
  • Works in region, conferring with directors and managers, to gather requirements and specifications while developing and implementing complex mathematical models with enhanced data and reporting tools to aid in transportation modal management and risk assessment decisions driving effective and efficient transportation operations. Works to gain a better sense of the current shortcomings in reporting technology and devise solutions to enhance reporting and data management. (15% of time spent).
  • Ensures a high level of accuracy, and efficiency.Validates results and conducts routine audits of data storage systems and database. (10% of time spent).
  • Develops complex routing and dispatch efficiency models using programs such as LLamasoft, Alteryx, and Tableau to extract data, identify efficiency opportunities, and present findings and suggestions in a succinct and executable fashion. (15% of time spent).
  • Analyst will be responsible for monitoring service, identify cost saving opportunities, and driving service improvements. (10% of time spent).
  • Track the savings generated by other operational efficiency programs and strategic transformation initiatives. (5% of time spent).
  • Conduct quantitative analysis to make independent decisions in accordance with Univar Solutions' delivery strategies and objectives. (15% of time spent).
  • Prepare enhanced data visualizations, presenting network and performance information, developing data processing and analysis tools, and supporting development of dashboards and online platforms. (15% of time spent).

Education / Experience / Training:

  • Bachelor's degree from fully accredited four-year institution is required. Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management or Business Analytics is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge and proficiency using PC based packages such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic, highly motivated
  • Able to communicate and collaborate well to understand business needs and deliver data driven insights with efficiency and accuracy

Specialized Knowledge / Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle diverse and significant workload.
  • Ability to recommend strategies and to translate strategies into tactics.
  • Working knowledge and experience with SAP, various TMS platforms, LLamasoft, Tableau, SQL, Alteryx, Python, and/or other inventory, modeling and visual business analytics (VBA) platforms

Other Requirements:

  • This role will require up to 10% travel.
