Overview
Responsible for providing expert technical advice, consulting to sales teams and customers in design and implementation of complex and enterprise software solutions and professional services. Provides technical support in sales presentations, customer training, and the delivery of professional services.
Responsibilities
- Assists in providing technical knowledge in sales meetings, presentations, demonstrations, surveys, inspections, and the delivery of professional services - whether on-site, via conference call, or via remote sessions.
- Meets with customer IT staff as subject matter expert.
- Assists with RFP responses and formulates questions for additional information needed and solutions to be proposed.
- Drives developing workflows and assessments that are being tested under Proof of Concept (POC) to ensure successful solution outcomes to be delivered to the end customer for their review and approval.
- Provides on-going project management support on large, complex, diverse, and challenging solution architecting and implementation.
- Assists in the installation and integration of products and product applications.
- Responsible for generating professional services revenue streams independent of equipment and software sales, conducting customer training classes, and providing installation and integration direction of advanced Canon Solutions America solutions.
- Understands and is comfortable in using Windows systems (client and server), networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, workgroup and domain environments, firewalls), remote access methods (Remote Desktop and VNC), virtual environments (VMware), understanding of printing related topics (PCL, Postscript, print driver settings).
- Participates in the preparation of large, high value sales proposals; ensuring configurations are complete and accurate.
- Interfaces with the sales team as a technical advisor during sales cycle of software workflow solutions through professional services.
- Trains customers on all products, through the use of Professional Services, not covered by Product Training.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 5 years of related experience.
- Relevant business experience relating to printing pre-sales/post- sales support in Large Format, office and production environments. Understand and be comfortable in using the Adobe Creative Suite product, Quark Xpress and/or other standard Color composition and management tools and respective file formats (JPEG, TIFF. EPS, PDF).
- Extensive travel may be required, up to 70% travel with overnight stays. Valid drivers' license and acceptable driving record necessary. Certain minimum auto insurance coverages are required.

PPS Specific: Fiery Professional & Expert Certification. Additional Datastream knowledge - AFP, VIPP, PPML and LCDS/Metacode a plus. Understanding of complex systems solutions, integration and networking in Windows, UNIX & Macintosh environments. Understanding of color profiling systems, screening sets, color calibration, ICC profiles and their effect on color gamut across various substrates. Expert in Acrobat Professional, Distiller and Enfocus Pitstop in regards to advanced PDF and PostScript file editing capabilities. Networking experience including WAN/LAN, TCPIP and network required. Network certification preferred. Actively assist customers with application on-boarding activities to increase print volumes.

LFS Specific: Additional knowledge of CAD systems, specifically AutoCAD and Microstation drafting and batch printing utilities. Knowledge of industry standard RIPS, specifically Onyx Production House or Thrive. Basic knowledge of SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio. Understanding of complex systems solutions, integration and networking in Windows, UNIX & Macintosh environments. Understanding of color profiling systems, color calibration, ICC profiles and their effect on color gamut across various substrates. Expert in Acrobat Professional, Distiller and Enfocus Pitstop in regards to advanced PDF and PostScript file editing capabilities. Networking experience including WAN/LAN, TCPIP and network required. Network certification preferred. Experience with Adobe Suite preferred. G7 Master Certification required. Color Management Professional Master certification required. Experience with flatbed cutting systems and associated software preferred.

ESS Enterprise Specific: In depth knowledge of network topologies and design which includes basic implementations on Canon branded products such as uniFLOW and Therefore. Additional product knowledge of third party products such as Rightfax, OjectifLune, Box, mxHero, Vera, eCopy, and Event Sentry. Project +, Cloud+, and MTA Certification required.

ESS Production Specific: Color management professional and EFI certification and an in depth understanding of color profiling systems, screening sets, color calibration, ICC profiles as well as an understanding of black and white production printing and the associated data streams and data conversion software products. An understanding of complex systems solutions, integration and networking in Windows, UNIX, and Macintosh environments. Knowledge of web to print software such as Prisma Direct and EFI Digital storefront.
