Job Description
AB Data has an opening for a Data/Layout Programmer. The Data/Layout Programmer is responsible for merging variable data with layout design to create dynamic print ready documents. This position works closely with production and customer service to accurately meet client and industry requirements. Direct marketing or variable data print industry experience preferred, but willing to train qualified candidates.

Responsibilities:
- Use your basic knowledge of programming to analyze client data and integrate it into variable templates using conditional logic.
- Set up direct mail and other digital printing projects.
- Prepare PDF and hard copy proofs for client approval.
- Create production ready files for printing.
- Review the quality of the final product before the project is released to production.
- One to two years of experience with variable data print and composition software is a plus.
- One to two years of experience with Postal Processing is a plus.
- Familiarity with programming logic.
- Experience with digital print, direct mail and postal regulations is preferred.
- Ability to learn new software applications quickly.
- Proficiency with Adobe and MS Office Suites.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with account representatives to ensure accuracy for each project.
- Strong time management and organization skills.
- Use own vehicle for travel between corporate office and production facility in Milwaukee (approximately 2 miles, standard IRS mileage rate applies).
