This role is eligible for a remote work schedule of up to two days remote work per week. New employees are eligible to apply after successfully completing their initial 90 daysof employment and training.

What You Will Do

As the the Director of Environmental, Social & Governance (EYSG), you will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will be located at A. O. Smith's world headquarters in Milwaukee, WI. Youwill be responsible for leading and driving all aspects of the Company's ESG initiatives and partnering with various departments and corporate functions while providing excellent communication.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Develop a long-term strategy for the Company's global environmental and sustainability commitments and strategy
  • Create and maintain a metrics-driven approach to collect and analyze data around ESG Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and goals
  • Support the Company's ESG reporting, communication, and engagement efforts with key stakeholders both internally externally including customers and investors
  • Lead and participate on the Company's Sustainability Council
  • Inspire and influence others to adopt and drive the Company's ESG strategy by using platforms such as the bi-annual ESG report, annual report and employee communications
  • Periodically benchmark ESG best practices in order to gain awareness of critical developments around standard setters such as SASB, GRI, and TCFD and disclosure requirements for public companies
  • Keep up to date on developments related to disclosure requirements for public companies
  • Provide annual reports to our Board and to our Board committees, as requested
  • Identify ESG risks and work with appropriate parties to implement action plans and mitigate as necessary
  • Partner with government affairs on regulatory matters, and provide insight on existing regulations, anticipated changes, and complex challenges in this area
  • 10-15% travel will be required for this position
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or other engineering discipline, sustainability, business, or related field
  • Minimum of 4-7 years of progressive experience in sustainability and product stewardship
  • Strong leadership skills with broad understanding of best sustainability practices
  • Knowledge of current sustainability, ESG, and climate change issues and strategies
  • Experience developing an ESG vision, designing a strategy, and executing a plan with defined objectives for the organization
  • Ability to lead a digital transformation of the function while leveraging technology to improve efficiency and achieve excellent results
  • Confidence to communicate with and advise senior executives and business leaders
  • Ability to work effectively in global, matrixed organization
  • Experience implementing ESG related technology platforms a plus
