Job Description

We are seeking a RN - House Supervisor:

  • Have knowledge of policies, procedures and practices of the state, university, hospital, and Department of Nursing as they relate to the operations of the hospital and clinics.
  • Knowledge of staffing models and oversee staffing.
  • Prioritize workload of staff and their assignments.
  • A strong candidate will have excellent professional communication and collaboration skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback and resolve conflicts.

Education:

Minimum - Associate Degree in nursing.

Preferred - Bachelor's degree in nursing strongly preferred.

Work Experience:

Minimum - Three (3) years of acute clinical nursing experience.

Preferred - Previous experience in a formal leadership role (such as Care Team Leader, Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Manager). Adult and Pediatric experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - Licensed RN in the State of Wisconsin and CPR certification.

Preferred - ACLS, PALS.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of policies, procedures and practices of the state, university, hospital, and Department of Nursing that are relevant to the operations of the hospital and clinics preferred.
  • Knowledge of staffing models.
  • Knowledge of decision-making process and sound management practices.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills that are conceptual as well as practical.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of hospital personnel and external parties.
  • Must be comfortable with an interdisciplinary culture of collaboration strong and confident sense of personal accountability.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to prioritize workload when given multiple demands.
  • Maintain professional communication and interactions in all situations.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of regulatory requirements and professional practice guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:

60% FTE, 24 hours per week. 8/12-hour day/evening shifts scheduled Monday through Friday. Rotating weekends and holidays required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
