Our Supervisor I is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of the branch, including supervision of the employees, facility and executing operations related activities.
How You'll Contribute
* Conducting daily pre-shift meetings, communicating expectations to employees and maintaining a supervisory presence throughout the branch.
* Coordinating day-to-day work activities to ensure operational goals and objectives are met.
* Ensuring all employees have the required tools and training on matters related to safety, operation standards and department goals.
* Creating a positive work environment and fostering employee ownership of branch operations and performance.
* General office work, email communications and correspondence with internal and external customers.
* Supporting inspections and paperwork associated with hazardous waste generation and waste pickup transport.}
* Supporting Branch Operations Manager with maintaining budget and operating plans to achieve branch goals.
* Responsible for meeting customer requirements and fulfilling orders in a cost effective manner using appropriate risk management and Standard Operating Procedures.
Supervisory Responsibility
* Direct supervision for Drivers, Material Handlers, Tank Farm Workers, Chemists and/or Lab Technicians. May supervise other positions as assigned.
* Fulfill supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Skills and Background
* High School Diploma/GED required
* Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
* Plant experience - Has a good working knowledge regarding corrosive hazardous chemicals, plant and bulk fleet equipment.
* Familiar with DOT requirements
* Experience working with bulk chemicals
* SAP
* 3-5 years' experience in operations
