Job Description

We are seeking a Nurse Manager to:

  • Join our remarkable team of health care professionals at the Madison Surgery Center (MSC), who strive to provide exceptional care to Wisconsin residents and beyond.
  • Coordinate all activities related to patient care in the operating rooms, sterile processing and materials management for MSC.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate day-to-day operations to ensure quality patient care and supervising all staff in the impacted areas.
  • Collaborae with the Administrative Director and the Pre/Post Nurse Manager to ensure adequate staffing, a professional work environment, team-based decision making and ongoing communication with staff in an effort to provide high quality care in a cost effective manner.
  • Responsible for meeting standards of the CMS guidelines for patient care.

Education:

Minimum - Bachelor of Science - Nursing (BSN).

Preferred - Masters of Science - Nursing (MSN).

Work Experience:

Minimum - Three (3) years of clinical experience in an OR setting. Two (2) years in a clinical leadership role including supervisory or progressive, relevant management experience.

Preferred - Five (5) years of progressive, relevant management experience in a clinical role.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - Registered Nurse (RN). ACLS certification.

Preferred - PALS & CNOR certification.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Quality improvement background.
  • Excellent clinical skills.
  • Decision making and problem solving ability in order to resolve complex clinical, systems, and personnel challenges.
  • Ability to manage stress and adapt to change.
  • Well-developed communication skills and proven approach to providing high quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.
  • Remains current in Nurse Practice Act and AORN (Association of Perioperative Nurses) guidelines for practice.
  • Ability to follow and practice MSC'S Patient Rights and Responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, 100% FTE position that is scheduled to work 8, 10 and 12 hour shifts, Monday through Friday. No weekends or holidays required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
