Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Department/Location: Corporate office - Milwaukee WI

Reports to: Director of Operations

Position Summary

Engineering team member that is responsible for transitioning projects from Engineering to Manufacturing. Role includes being a team lead working with Engineering team members to make products production ready, document assembly procedures, train manufacturing technicians, and assist in manufacturing handoffs.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities

  • Attend Engineering Design Reviews
  • Understand Mechanical Design Process
  • Write Work Instructions and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Determine "Manufacturing Readiness" of products
  • Assist in prototype and small batch production builds
  • Create, modify, and maintain drawings in CAD system (SolidWorks)
  • Build system documentation in ERP system (JobBOSS)
  • Train Manufacturing Technicians on assembly of new products
  • Assist Manufacturing Technicians in resolving issues
  • Establish and maintain inventory locations
  • Perform and document Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering preferred with more than two years of experience that is related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Solid understanding and demonstrable execution of Mechanical assembly processes
  • Strong Engineering design and development experience and background
  • Strong CAD (Solidworks) skills
  • Basic understanding of Lean tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal, approximately 10% depending upon need.
  • Travel may be up to twice per month, duration of trip varies (overnight, up to one week maximum).

Working Conditions

  • Medium physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds. Requires walking and standing and some climbing during the day.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
