Overview

Manage and coordinate activities of material handlers engaged in storing, handling, verifying, and maintaining on hand inventory physically stored within the distribution center. Manage the receipt and shipment of finished products including picking, packing, preparation and shipment of customer orders. Manage and coordinate continuous improvement projects within the distribution center to include new technology, material handling and automation. Coordinate the general outbound logistics activities with the Andis preferred logistics providers.

Implements, executes, and monitors warehouse technology systems & improvements, including but not limited to; WMS, Picking Automation, Scanning devices, Storage and retrieval systems.

Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiencies. Administers ISO required SOP development and maintenance thereof. Updates Training records to document employee training statuses, promotions, and advancements.

Reviews demand-based distribution capacity planning tool to ensure the staffing requirements for the component warehouse is met.

Reviews demand-based distribution capacity planning tool to ensure the material handling and storage resource requirements for the distribution center are met. Recommends and manages the use of outside storage facilities for surge storage.

Recommends and administers material handling equipment needs and services. If notified of material handling equipment and company vehicles with defects, recommends maintenance or contacts outside services for repairs. Recommends and manages outside service providers.

Oversees the accurate movement, storage, preservation and on hand record balance of all inventory items stored within the component warehouse area.

Reviews and reports the cycle counting accuracy metrics for the component warehouse, uses analysis to determine and address root causes of discrepancies.

Compiles and reports the distribution facility KPIs. Uses data to support key initiatives and continuous improvement priorities.

Oversees the preparation and submission of all transportation documentation as it relates to outside processing of domestic including, when necessary, hazardous shipments.

Maintains good working relations between associates. Uses shift leads to drive productivity and change management initiatives.

Administers the Filing, follow up, and resolve claim submissions to transportation providers.

Promote and enforce safety rules.

Qualifications

Associate's degree (A. A. / A.S.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school and 5 to 8 years experience leading warehouse, or material planning/inventory control teams.

Experience using a WMS to manage inventory, or an ERP to support material planning/inventory control is required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or INFOR XA are helpful.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate will need to have knowledge of business and management principles; administrative and clerical procedures; production and manufacturing processes; and computers and electronics.
