Job Description

We are looking for a Process Improvement Engineer to improve MPE processes. The Process Improvement Engineer is responsible for reviewing, developing, costing, creating processes, and creating work instructions for MPE build to print and designed products using lean six sigma methodologies. These responsibilities apply to new and existing parts and products through prototype builds, product and design reviews, quality reviews, and process reviews.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Consult with supervisors and leads to determine process improvements using lean six sigma methodologies.
  • Continuously look for waste reduction opportunities on the assembly lines and on the powder coat line.
  • Review and implement fabrication, paint, and assembly process improvement requests via the MPE request for Change (RFC) process.
  • Provide technical manufacturing support throughout the organization.
  • Create work instructions and line balance work flow in paint and assembly.
  • Participate in process failure modes and effects analyses on new assembly and paint product launches.
  • Lead and facilitate lean six sigma kaizen events throughout the organization.
  • Research tools, methodologies, and processes to find solutions to improve production efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Complete time studies on assembly processes against quoted cycle times.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Mechanical, Manufacturing and/or Industrial Engineering or related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Some CAD experience (Solidworks, Creo, etc.) knowledge preferred
  • Understanding of lean and/or six sigma methodologies
  • Ability to interpret customer prints, documents and specification
