Summary of Position:

The Process Engineer is responsible for researching, developing, and implementing new or improved manufacturing processes. Primary objectives include quality improvement, cost reduction, safety and ergonomics improvements, process efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Job Duties:

  • A good attendance record is essential to the smooth operation of the Department.
  • Manages process improvement projects through establishment of schedules with milestones, tasks, responsible parties, and due dates.
  • Provides process requirement specifications used to fabricate products, including acceptance criteria, test requirements and regulatory/quality standards.
  • Uses engineering principles and techniques to research, design, analyze, implement, and test new and existing materials, processes, and equipment.
  • As required in support of R&D, defines product design test requirements and specifications, prepares a test plan, and provides test equipment for testing new product designs.
  • Develops process validation plans for new or modified processes.
  • Leads or executes process validation activities and issues reports based on the test results.
  • Performs pre-production runs working with manufacturing, quality and purchasing to ensure the product and process designs meet product design requirement specification and can be economically produced in production.
  • Managing maintenance and repair program following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of machining and metal fabrication processes and equipment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from college or university with a minimum of five years related experience.
  • Experience working with Computer aided design, (CAD)
  • Experience with process validation and automated equipment is preferred
