Job Description
Husch Blackwell LLPis a full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple locations across the United States, serving clients with domestic and international operations. We have an immediate opening for aWorkplace Services Assistantin our Milwaukeeoffice.The Workplace Services Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day operations associated with accommodating the facilities needs of Husch Blackwell employees and clients to include move coordination, tenant work orders, supplies, mail services, and hospitality. Essential job functions include:Responsible for the neat and orderly maintenance of the office including but not limited to: conference rooms, common areas, vacant offices, visiting attorney offices, and storage areas.Ensure break rooms are neat and adequately stocked by performing weekly duties associated with cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, drain maintenance, and sanitizing coffee and tea pots.Assist with office reassignments/relocations and distribution of furniture and fixtures.Physically prepare offices for new & departing personnel.Perform minor repairs and maintenance around the facility to include changing light bulbs adjustments to seating, installation of ergonomic devices, installation of name plaques, light carpet maintenance, etc.Assist with coordination of repairs and service calls of furniture, fixtures, and equipment as required.Assist with entering and managing work orders into Landlord Tenant Portals.Configuration of Multi-purpose and Training Rooms as required.Ensure timely and accurate setup of conference rooms and various special events.Perform light housekeeping duties to include cleaning of light switches, painted doors, glass doors, vacuuming following large conference room meetings as required, etc.Assist with the coordination of audio/visual equipment distribution for conference rooms, trials and private office use as required.Verify conference room credenzas are stocked with adequate office supplies and refreshmentsAfter-hours Event coordination in conjunction with direct supervisor and/or Coordinator.Departmental Backup Functions:Accurate collection, sorting and distribution (electronic and physical) of incoming U.S. mail, inter-office and intra-office mail and overnight packages daily.Assist with ordering and reconciliation of supplies for mailroom operations and general office use.Hand deliver any certified, registered, or Express mail packages to the post office as required.Assist internal customers with generating Online Fed Ex Airbill.Assist with electronic fax distribution.Troubleshoot Ricoh fleet as required through HelpDesk tickets; follow up and monitor of service tickets with service vendor or IT department.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical activity of this position:Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.Feeling. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.Repetitive Motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.The physical requirements of this position:Medium Work.
