Nouryon, a leader in essential chemicals for everyday products, has a remote Account Manager for our Water Treatment business. The role will service existing and new customers in the northeast and Midwest United States. The Account Manager will utilize existing sales knowledge to drive growth. The professional is ideally based in the areas being serviced but will work remotely from their location. Frequent travel is expected in order to meet with current and prospective customers. The position is remote, but the candidate is ideally located in Illinois, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Maine, West Virginia, and other relevant locations.
Responsibilities
Expand relationships with existing accounts and drive future growth
Identify prospects (through market research and internal resources) and develop these into new customers, meeting aggressive growth targets with a differentiating product portfolio including patent pending new technology
Build in depth knowledge of customer's needs and translate these internally to Marketing, R7D and other relevant functions.
Profit and Loss responsibility for the Water Treatment segment in the Northeast and Midwest. This includes sales budget planning, margin management and forecast optimization.
Gain access to new businesses through participation in trade shows, courses and seminars
Prepare the annual sales budget and quarterly updates for the assigned customer portfolio
Constantly evaluate sales results, new business opportunities and trends, aimed at continuous improvement
Implement pricing and margin strategy and negotiate contracts as well as terms & conditions for the assigned customer portfolio
Job Requirements
BS or MS degree (Chemistry or Engineering preferred but other relevant degrees considered)
Minimum of five years sales experience, preferably in Chemicals
Knowledge of Water Treatment chemistry is regarded advantageous, but not required
Self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong drive for results and market-oriented mindset
Requires a valid drivers license and 30% - 50% with some overnight travel
