We are looking to add an associate with 3+ years of experience to our Corporate, Venture Capital and Emerging Growth team, "Venture Best". The associate can be located in any of our Austin, Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee, Raleigh, Denver or Salt Lake City offices.

What We Look For: Our ideal candidate must have deep experience representing growth companies and/or investors in venture capital financing transactions, value an environment where everyone is treated with mutual support and respect, and be a self-starter who possesses the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Qualified candidates will have substantive experience in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and emerging company transactions as well as general corporate governance and commercial matters. Experience in licensing and technology transactions and/or public securities is a plus. Additionally, the new team member should be highly motivated and willing to engage in all aspects of growth company representation.

You will be assigned an expert Corporate or VentureBest attorney to guide you, help you set goals, and ensure you have access to all of the tools necessary to be successful.

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• 3+ years of corporate or transactional experience
• Strong drafting and organizational skills
• The ability to interact directly with client management and opposing counsel
• Excellent academic credentials
• Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Valid authorization to work in the U.S.

For Colorado applicants only (as required by the Colorado Equal Pay Act): The starting salary for associate positions in our Denver office is $150,000. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Associates are eligible to participate in Michael Best's associate bonus program, subject to the program's conditions and restrictions. This position is considered full-time and is therefore eligible to participate in employer-sponsored benefits, including: medical, dental, vision, as well as elective/voluntary life, disability, and accident coverage. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in the firm's 401k plan.
