Reporting to the Executive Director of Global Manufacturing Engineering you will provide manufacturing engineering expertise to Li-Ion production locations for Clarios . The role has the opportunity to be remote or hybrid.
How you will do:
* Responsible for specification, development and industrialization planning and execution of automated assembly lines for high volume production of Li-Ion battery modules including logistics concepts
* Assist with strategic site selection planning activity for battery manufacturing in different regions globally.
* Defines equipment requirements and manages equipment suppliers and executes supplier assessments from technical side
* Supports the creation of manufacturing quotes including cost analysis (investment and assembly)
* Plans production processes including process development and feasibility analysis including ergonomics
* Supports the development of Process FMEAs
* Works with the design department on design for manufacturing / for assembly (DFAM)
* Supports preparation of launch activities, as defined in DAPTIV for AME
* Ensures the equipment functionality and availability for prototype and pilot production
* Translates End of Line requirements into functional testing specifications
* Oversee, Schedule small Pack and module prototype builds as they come up
What we look for:
Engineering degree required; Mechanical or electrical engineering degree preferred. Focus of production or manufacturing engineering orientation highly desired.
8+ years of experience in Manufacturing area, electronic assembly required
Knowledge of automotive quality standards
5+ years' experience in the following process areas with ability to demonstrate a strong technical knowledge at them as well:
Laser Welding (plastic, copper, aluminum, steel),
Ultrasonic welding
Resistance spot welding
Application of adhesives and fasteners
Electronics assembly and integration
Practical mechanical or electrical education
Proficient knowledge of English language
Preferable software skills 2D/3D CAD, MS Office, SAP
Problem Solving knowledge and experience
Team leadership experience and cross functional collaboration
OEM or Tier One automotive work experience, energy storage or consumer products is preferred
Travel up to 65% may be required
