Packaging Operator

Job Description
Looking for 2nd and 3rd shift Packaging Operators to join our team! The Packaging Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of their assigned secondary packaging equipment (case erectors, case packers, case sealers, sleevers, palletizers, etc.). They are also responsible for operating forklifts or other pallet jack equipment to load, unload, move, stage and count product and materials.

Job Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with food safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements while following the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Operates and observes secondary packaging equipment to ensure food safety, product quality and conformity meeting customer standards and specifications
- Participates in startup, troubleshooting/adjustment, stop/reset and shutdown of line equipment
- Performs changeovers- completes line clears and accurately sets up next items packaging and coding
- Maintains accurate and detailed work log and inventory records
- Monitors and reviews inventory and production levels to achieve the move efficient operating conditions
- Safely operates forklifts to handle materials and finished goods
- Actively participates in shift exchanges and work team meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Highschool or equivalency in diploma
- Previous manufacturing, packaging, or assembly line production experience- ideally in food, food processing
- Previous forklift experience
- Basic mathematical calculation skills
- Ability to work in a face paced environment
- Technical knowledge of aseptic filling/processing and associated equipment
- Ability to work with limited supervision
