Job Description
Description:The Process Engineer is responsible for ensuring the manufacturability of products through theTo accomplish this, it will require them to:Drive improvements in processes to: increase productivity, reduce the cost of production, and improve the quality of the part.Work with Production Supervisors and Leads to ensure quality of daily production.Take inputs from Design Engineering to produce BOMs and routings.Maintain Item and BOM data within the ERP system.Primary Responsibilities:The Process Engineer's primary responsibilities are:Serve as expert on production processes and documentation during collaboration with other Engineering groupsEvaluate internal production processes to identify possible improvements and cost reductionsCreation and maintenance of all production documentation, such as work instructions and inspection reportsUtilize research methods, such as time studies, to develop standard process run timesProvide production support during new projects and processes to ensure timely resolution of issuesDesign of tooling and fixtures to facilitate processesOptimize plant layout for optimized workflow and equipment placementResearch and justification of new equipment and machineryDevelop accurate BOMs and routings for all manufactured productsWork in a safe, and courteous mannerKnowledge and Abilities:Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or closely related field or comparable on the job experience.Five years of engineering experience working in an Engineer to Order manufacturing environment.Experience performing time studies and other process analysis toolsExperience in Lean ManufacturingExperience in metals manufacturing processes (i.e. Forming, welding, machining, or assembly).(Optional) Experience working with fabricsFamiliarity with CAD software, specifically Inventor and AutoCAD.The ability to write technical documents in a clear, accurate and complete form, excellent organizational skills, excellent computer skills, excellent housekeeping skills, excellent work ethic and good judgment.Good analytical skills, excellent project management skills, ability to effectively communicate verbally (in person or by telephone) and in writing as required, excellent relationship and leadership skills, attention to detail and understanding of "the big picture"Ability to proficiently use standard office equipment such as computers, e-mail, Microsoft Office, internet search engines, copiers, telephone, and fax machines is required.Measures of Performance:Satisfactorily completes all duties and responsibilities as outlined above.Satisfactorily completes all other tasks assigned by the Technical Manager.Other:Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.Must be able to travel by car or air occasionally, including overnight stays.
