Sr Project Engineer - Industrial ControlsWork Mode: OnsiteLocation:Kohler, WIOpportunityThe Sr. Project Engineer - Industrial Controls role is responsible to provide technical expertise in support of automation and manufacturing equipment at Kohler's Wisconsin Faucets Operations (WFO). The role includes system design and maintenance, installation oversight, problem solving, consulting and training on electrical/electronic controls systems in the manufacturing environment.Specific Responsibilities:Provide technical support as required to ensure plant equipment is operating and optimized. This included troubleshooting of down equipment as required (includes emergency and off-hour support).Understanding equipment electrical controls obsolescence and creating plans to mitigate.Participate in driving Smart Factory/Industry 4.0 implementation. Develop, monitor, and improve data collection and metrics for quality and throughput for equipment.Implement error proofing solutions that are integrated into manufacturing processes. Examples would be the integration of vision systems, sensors, DC tools, in-process/post process gauge systems, data collection, etc.Project management and commissioning of capital equipment projects as assigned. Scope could include complete project or limited to the electrical controls and/or other sub-portions of the project.Assist in vendor selection, equipment specification, quotation, and reviews for new equipment to ensure equipment meets Kohler's automation specification standards.Provide input into feasibility of projects to maintain business' capital plan. Prepare white papers, ACT's and capital expenditures to achieve the plan.Support design-for-manufacturability improvements to design engineering, both for existing and for new products.Develop individual goals/objectives to support organizational goals using the maximizing performance appraisal process, and personally demonstrate and drive the Kohler Core Competencies.Skills/RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field from an ABET accredited programAssociate Degree in field of Electrical Engineering with significant experience and demonstrated results applicable to the position would be considered4+ years of experience in factory automationTravel estimated at Experience needed with controls (PLC's HMI's, Servos, etc.), Allen Bradley preferredExperience programming and/or integrating with robotics, Fanuc robotics preferredExperience creating and reading electrical schematic diagramsExperience using multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and other lab equipment to analyze complex circuitsExperience with SAP, and/or AutoCAD Electrical is a plusStrong computer skills, both hardware and software with proficiency in Microsoft Office toolsMust demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, a design for innovation/new technology, sense of urgency, attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to function effectively within a team environmentMust have a passion for continuous learning and development of new skills and knowledgeApplicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.Why Work at Kohler Co.?Kohler Co.'s mission is to contribute to a higher level of gracious living for those who are touched by our products and services.
