This strong foundation has created an environment where our employees are seen as members of our family and are given the tools and resources to succeed, both personally and professionally.Position OverviewUnder the direction of the Director of Technical and Product Development, the Process Engineer will be responsible for commercialization and scale up of all new products. Working with manufacturing teams, the individual will help in designing, developing, testing, operating, and validating manufacturing processes and equipment necessary to develop and launch ingredients and formulas for nutrition supplements. This position will review new technology and determine suitability with the business by evaluating human work factors, time efficiency, cost, and ultimate impact on product quality.Essential FunctionsLead all product scale up activities for the manufacturing and commercialization of new productsManage the pilot plant and processes from pilot plant prototype to full scale manufacturingDesign and develop process systems for new products and assess new technologies and processes available in the nutrition supplement industryPrepare calculations, specifications, sketches and drawings of process systems as neededDevelop specifications for equipment, materials and overall process performance requirements as neededDevelop strategies for process improvement and evaluate impact of such changes when appropriateWork cooperatively with Production and Engineering to introduce and commission new equipment for productionEnsure effective communication and approval of key stakeholders for process changeWork directly with machine operators to identify needs and develop solutionsMitigate or remove process safety and employee riskReview product quality markers to ensure long term successIdentify and ensure that all relevant processing parameters and validations are planned and carried outBecome a subject matter expert for the support of unique processing technologies such as supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), membrane technology, drying, extraction, granulation, and solid dose technologyWork with equipment manufacturers to develop maintenance and standard operating proceduresQualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Food Technology requiredExperience3-5 years of industry experienceExperience designing experiments Experience in a dietary supplement manufacturing environmentExperience managing projects and personnelSpecialized Knowledge and SkillsKnowledge of nutrition/clinical nutritionKnowledge of powders, RTD, and bar platformsSkills in project managementNecessary CompetenciesAdaptability/FlexibilityAnalytical/Detail-OrientedEthics/IntegrityPersonal Accountability/ ProfessionalismQualityTeamwork/ Team BuildingTechnical SkillsTime ManagementBenefits PackageStandard Process is proud to be a top workplace.
