This position is responsible for the overall management of design and engineering of manufactured products.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with customers, R&D staff, and sales to determine the effectiveness of products.
  • Analyze electrical, mechanical, and operating conditions to develop recommendations to meet customer needs of optimal product performance, life, or cost.
  • Responsible for directing and coordinating product design, specifications, drawings and standardization along with design reviews to ensure standardization and manufacturability.
  • Establish policies, procedures, databases etc. to maintain the integrity of designs & data.
  • Address customer issues, non-conformances, and product returns.
  • Work with Production Management, Industrial Engineering, and Quality to develop and maintain manufacturing processes, procedures, and controls
  • Delegate responsibilities to subordinates to meet company and individual departmental goals.
  • Coach and mentor team to improve skills and abilities of staff
  • Supervise Product Specialists and Mechanical Drafters
Education and Experience
  • 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering or other engineering degree - MSEE or MBA Preferred
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in an engineering environment.
  • A minimum of 7 years progressive experience in manufacturing
Skills
  • Proficiency with MS-Office, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and Power Point
  • Proficiently use Autocad or similar CAD system
  • Experience to ERP Systems preferred
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to communicate technical information
  • Ability to analyze customer problems and make technical recommendations in written form
  • Previous experience with ISO 9000
  • Ability to create and maintain strong work teams
  • Strong Time Management and Project Management skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed (Less than 10% of the time).
