Job Description

  • Drive Design for Test (DfT) initiatives within BU product designs while developing robust, cost-effective test strategies for validation of manufactured product with an end-to-end perspective starting at component level and PCBA testing, through final assembly as defined by business unit project expectations.
  • Lead and participate in DfT development environment, investigating and implementing tools, methods and technology that will drive testability features within RA products.
  • Design robust test strategies through close interfacing with business unit customers, integration of DfT approaches and design of comprehensive test specifications and requirements that are then executed by ICT partner teams or external vendors.
  • Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Electrical Engineering/Computer Science (EE/CS) or Industrial Engineering.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • 5+ years' experience as a test engineer contributor in a team oriented multiple project environment, including design and development of test equipment for production, or project management associated with product validation systems.
  • Proven organizational and technical project leadership skills, and ability to think and act strategically.
  • Ability to evaluate a product and develop end-to-end product validation strategies.
  • Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret new product designs consisting of electronic circuit schematics, electrical and mechanical equipment design drawings, bills of materials, design and functional specifications.
  • Knowledge of electronic hardware design processes and mechanical design concepts.
  • Self-directed and able to adjust to changes in priority and scope.
  • Good written and verbal communications in English.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work in cross functional project teams to ensure manufacturing validation strategies are efficient and stream-lined with an end-to-end perspective.
  • Actively participate in the new product design evaluation process. Provide design for test feedback and or requirements to the product team during the design development to assure testability and test coverage.
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects across different product lines and teams. Manage and communicate project timelines and action plans effectively to delivery cost effective test solutions on schedule and budget.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the procurement and installation of all final functional test related capital equipment required for Rockwell production facilities. Procure, consolidate, and retire capital test equipment.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor others in within Architecture team across validation knowledge areas in order to build cross-functional expertise within the team and partners

Key Performance Metrics

  • Create and release blueprints covering all aspects of the validation process.
    • Test specification to document, product validation and coverage strategy.
    • Project ROM and Quote expectations
    • Project SOW (Statement of Work)
    • All blueprint elements required by build, external or software teams within MPE
  • Provides strategic test planning oversight and support.
