Job Description
What does a great Staff Counsel do?As a Staff Counsel, Labor & Employment you will advise Human Resources and other key business stakeholders on key employment and Human Resources compliance initiatives. As Staff Counsel, Labor & Employment, you will provide counsel to Fiserv's Human Resources Centers of Excellence and oversee compliance to applicable labor and employment laws and regulations. You will partner with the Human Resources organization and other internal clients to implement policies and practices supporting compliance to those laws and regulations. You will provide day-to-day practical advice and counseling regarding general labor and employment issues, including but not limited to those relating to leaves of absence, disability accommodation, wage and hour, benefit plan administration, immigration, and employment matters in connection with M You will be responsible for keeping apprised of changes in labor and employment laws that impact the organization and lead proactive, continuous improvement efforts in that regard, and provide foundational legal training to Human Resources and other business stakeholders.Basic qualifications for considerationYou must have a JD from an accredited law school, a valid law license in an appropriate jurisdiction and 3+ years of labor and employment legal experience at either a law firm or as in-house counsel.In good standing with state bar with no disciplinary record.Preferred qualifications:You must be highly motivated and organized with the ability to set and execute priorities effectively and with a high level of autonomy.You must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with parties at all levels of the organization.You must have strong analytical and decision-making skills and attention to detail You must be able to diagnose complex problems and develop effective business- relevant recommendations.Experience in employee benefits is preferred.You may be required to travel up to 15% of the timeLearn more about Fiserv:To support the total well-being of our associates, Fiserv takes a broad approach to our benefits.
