Job Description
Patient Access Representative / Patient Registration - DAY SHIFT! Hours: 6a-6p (12 hour shift, rotation); will include weekends (Sat, Sun) on a rotation Description: -collects patient information and will be responsible for verifying insurance, admitting patients, transferring patients, and discharge -Must remain calm and efficient since his or her work is often performed in a fast-paced environment where time is of the essence. -Registration specialists help assign beds and carry out procedures to admit, transfer, or discharge patients. -Verify necessary physician referrals and insurance authorizations. -Will explain financial options to patients. May also involve the collection and processing of payments. -Keep accurate records of patient information, insurance information, and payments received and then provide patients' insurance companies with the proper paperwork that reflects all related transactions.
