Smart Factory Applications Analyst

Location: Remote

Opportunity

Specific Job Content: The person selected to fill this position will be assigned to the Smart Factory Deployment team which is responsible for the implementation and support of Smart Factory and other manufacturing solutions across the enterprise. This position will receive assignments as a member of the Enterprise IT Smart Factory Deployment Team. They will develop and document systems and assist with user training and procedures. The Systems Analyst classification is the intermediate level in the systems analyst job family.

General Objective: Assist business users with and lead sections of the implementation and maintenance of Smart Factory and manufacturing systems. Create software solutions through design and/or configuration. Propose and present designs, prepare systems and program specifications, prepare test criteria and perform tests. Assist in developing and monitoring policies, procedures and standard documentation. Perform setup and installation of systems. Provide technical support to users. Operate under some supervision. Work extensively with business end users, Superusers, vendors, and software providers. Some latitude for independent actions and decisions. Receive assignment as a member of a team for larger projects or for work on small, standalone systems. Also has responsibility for systems maintenance and support.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional Skills:

  • Develop detailed program specifications for Smart Factory and manufacturing related systems. Develop system and program documentation and user procedures.
  • Prepare test data. Perform system and program testing. Perform system and program implementation and modification.
  • Research systems and programs to determine causes of failure or poor operational performance; then define, test and implement detailed solutions.
  • Assist in providing inputs for project review meetings and management presentations including general design review, project scheduling, test plan, system and program tactics and methods, system controls, procedures, documentation, and system implementation plan.
  • Learn and comply with Systems Development standards, procedures, guidelines, priorities and schedules.
  • Develop personal competence in using standard methods, procedures, programming languages, and the variety of software development and testing tools employed at Kohler Co.
  • Provide positive contributions as a team member of systems projects. Learn to develop practical systems that enhance the business function. Learn to provide quality solutions within budget and schedule to meet objectives.
  • Provide analysis and counsel to personnel of operating units to analyze problems and develop solutions as well as assure efficient operation of existing systems and programs. Develop an understanding of business processes and the implications of computer systems on those processes.
  • Participate in educational programs and professional societies involving analysis skills and computing technology.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain or related field required. Under some circumstances, Associate Degree in Information Technology and minimum 2 years' experience will be accepted.
  • The ability to read, write, and speak Mandarin, French, or Spanish is a plus.
